These are the greatest walls of all times. The walls of failure, sickness and diseases, walls of defeat, walls of impossibilities.
In Joshua chapter 6, we see God’s instructions to Joshua how the walls will be brought down. First, the ark of the covenant will lead the Armies of the Lord. Second, priests carrying the trumpets and thirdly armed men. Listen to this brethren, God knew what was needed to break the walls. Obedience! The armed men need to be there. But God will not use their weapons! The trumpeters need to be there. But all God want is obedience, and the walls will come tumbling down.
My friend, when we go before God in prayers, aiming to bring our Jericho walls down, obedience is the key to our success. We must be armed with the word of God (Eph 6:11). We must respect the authority, (Rom 13:1) for our strength to win the battle rest in our obedience. When we are told to blow the trumpet (declare the Gospel) we do it. When we are told to shout (praise), we just do that. No chisel or hummer is needed to break the walls. Our obedience is the tool that is needed to break this wall. These guys are instructed to match around the walls silently for six days. On the seventh day, they were to match round about it for seven times. The seventh time, the priests were to blow the trumpets and the people give a shout of victory, then and only then the walls will come down. See, this is all faith. They were to give a shout of victory before it had happened. That’s what we are supposed to do! Obey the word of the Lord, obey His servants, declare the gospel and give a praise of victory even before we embrace it!
Rom 14:23 …. for whatever is not from faith is sin.
